All in all, it's a very good, spacious, and popular fishing boat. The boat is equipped with a depth sounder, GPS/chart plotter, AIS tracker, and rod holders, making it perfect for up to five anglers. Life jackets and lifeguards are provided.

General information about the object: Here is the Youtube video Summer 2019 ( Click )
The dream property Birkenes is located in front of the Farsund archipelago, directly above the fjord, on a beautiful natural plot with access to the Farsund archipelago and a short distance from the open sea. The completely new building was constructed in 2018-2019 using the latest materials, and futuristic ideas were implemented to give vacationers a completely new living experience. A highlight: the living area is located directly above the large boathouse. The owner, together with the architects, implemented a completely innovative living concept. Almost all rooms are designed with a view of the fjord. Plenty of light, large glass surfaces, and a spacious open-plan living area convey a completely new holiday feeling. In the living area alone, enormous glass surfaces were installed, allowing for a magnificent panoramic view of the water. A surprising feature is the innovative sleeping arrangement. The bunk section with its four sleeping compartments, designed especially for our younger visitors and groups, is small compartments, some with glass surfaces and direct views of the water. Of course, there are also two separate bedrooms for those who prefer more privacy.

Thanks to the house's idyllic location on the Farsund archipelago, the Birkenes holiday home is particularly well-suited to families, divers, and fishing enthusiasts, as well as guests who appreciate these unique features. Enjoy the sunshine and views of the offshore islands and the fjord, as well as the soothing peace and quiet of the sheltered, scenic location.
The new boathouse with two berths, as well as the 21-foot Oien 620 F with 40 hp, depth sounder, and chart plotter, are located below your property. There's a large fish cleaning area, a barbecue area with a rotisserie grill, and the pier is huge. The property also includes a parking area with 2-3 parking spaces, and you can drive right up to the house for loading and unloading. The magnificent view of the islands and the nearby sea from the house will make your vacation days pass by quickly, as there are plenty of options for vacation planning here.

Freizeit und Angeln

Fishing and leisure activities in Farsund and Bjoernevag Region

Fishing in Farsund, Bjoernevag, Nordstranda and the waters outside Katland on the sea up to Cape Lindesnes.

In the Farsund area, with its fjords, island gardens, skerries, and the extremely fish-rich plateaus off Katland and the Kletten islands, water sports and saltwater fishing (all types) are at the top of your daily agenda. For diving, kitesurfing, surfing, and recreational, sport, and hobby anglers, the area is always known for its surprises.

Good catches of impressive sea fish, such as cod, pollock, coalfish, saithe, and lumpfish, occasionally halibut, as well as plentiful mackerel, are brought home especially from the marine hotspots off Farsund, between Lindesnes Lighthouse and Lista Lighthouse. Of course, we know that success rates depend on the weather, the season, and the currents, but that's just how it is along the coasts throughout Norway. Many of our guests have sent us pictures, videos, and feedback on their fishing experiences; see for yourself. (Click on impressions)

Here you will also find the best and most impressive fishing videos of our fishing friends Achim and Claus from the Bjoernevag, Farsund and Borhaug region of the last 10 years.

Here you can find the fishing films from The Achim Videos" 2014 – 2023" (Link) on YouTube

The exciting videos demonstrate once again that fishing in the Lista region is very productive when the weather is stable. The size of the fish caught is particularly impressive, despite the often-stated claim that there are no large fish in southern Norway.

It's important to use the right fishing gear and methods. Here you'll find the right tips on tackle and our recommended fishing methods. (Click link)

The open sea with its plateaus Nesskletten, Svaneflua, Rauna and other good fishing spots should only be approached with suitable boats and only in stable weather.

What's important to us: You should only visit offshore fishing spots in stable weather and with a suitable boat! Small dinghies should avoid offshore fishing areas and have no place on the open sea.

After all, the entire area offers more than 20 species of fish to catch. You can fish between the islands and skerries, or in the sheltered fjord, with hardly any downtime, in virtually any weather. In good, steady weather with little wind, you can easily reach the open sea and the sandy plateaus from most locations. In the wintery spring, herring come to the coast, joined by strong-fighting cod and coalfish.

From some of the jetties, you can catch flatfish, flounder, and even mefo, as well as other marine fish. The owner can usually give you good weather tips and point you to worthwhile fishing spots. Sheltered fishing in the fjord is almost always possible. So, if you want to combine fishing with family, a short commute, and plenty of alternative vacation activities, this region is the place for you.

You can book professionally guided fishing trips from Farsund or Borhaug. The operator, Björnevags, also offers guided deep-sea and deep-sea fishing trips on the M/S Bjørnevåg, a 32 ft/100 hp boat certified for 5-8 people. The trip lasts approximately 6 hours and is subject to a binding booking. (Can only be booked and paid for on-site in Björnevag.)

Fishing at Nordstranda:
At various times of the year, schools of mackerel and other marine fish species migrate to the Helvikfjord near Norstranda. Starting in April, sea trout fishing directly from Nordstranda's jetty or at Svingbru v Bøensbakken is extremely promising and successful. We believe the best sea trout fishing can be found on the shores and beaches of Farsund, or, if it's windy, even under the bridge in the city center. We've tested it ourselves and had quite a successful experience.

In the summer of 2023, a pod of peaceful killer whales (orcas) even migrated into the inner fjords and stayed there for several weeks to feed and rest. Visitors should stay away from these majestic animals and the seals by boat and maintain a safe distance at all times.

Did you know that from our new Nordstranda facility near Helvik, you can take a boat through the fjords to Lyngdal or Apta? Or in just 15 minutes, you can sail directly to Farsund town center and from there quickly out to sea, past the Katland Lighthouse?

Freshwater fishing / in the surrounding lakes and streams:

There are many beautiful fishing spots in the area – for trout, char, and sea trout. On the Listerfriluft.no website , you'll find an overview of fishing lakes and sea trout spots. For some freshwater lakes, a license is required, which is subject to a fee. Here you'll find all the information you need about freshwater fishing spots in Southern Norway. (Click here)

We wish you much success, fun and good fishing.

Leisure activities in the Farsund, Nordstranda, Bjoernevag region:

Here you will find the best leisure tips:

Farsund's beautiful, maritime town center with its quay and harbor facilities is a highlight, as it boasts numerous shops and a shopping mall. Your companions will be thrilled to find a wealth of Nordic fashion to browse or purchase here. Several boat fuel stations, shopping centers, and various grocery stores (KIWI, COOP, SPAR, REMA 1000, Joker) are easily accessible. Farsund offers many cultural attractions, and the town has plenty to offer shoppers.

If you want to experience some excitement on the weekend, you should go to Farsund, Vanse ( 8th Avenue" ) Lyngdal or Flekkefjord.

In addition to several restaurants, pubs and dance bars with live music, you will find a place for young and old to dance and celebrate to Norwegian live music at the weekend, not only in the Bondeheimen pub ( click to Facebook ) or the floating bar "Over " on the quay.

There are plenty of interesting things to do for those in a party mood. There's a lot going on here in the summer. Music and dance events take place during the holidays. There are many pubs and open-air events where you can just have a drink or dance.

Hikers, motorcyclists, and cyclists will find the region's diverse natural landscape truly worth their while, as the small, white coastal towns are lined up like pearls, not too far away.

Excursions:
Visit Farsund with its many summer attractions, Lindesnes, the Sørlandsbadet (click on link) in Lyngdal, the white Lista beaches near Farsund and Vanse, Lyngdal and the Lista lighthouse near Borhaug,

The Adrenalin Park (click on link) with its activity park near Borhaug is also exciting for kids.

Lista is known worldwide for its unique light! It's fascinating to see how the sea changes with the wind, sun, and weather, and how the play of light transforms the landscape—a true mecca for photographers.

Horseback riding, an alpaca farm, soccer and volleyball fields, arguably the best outdoor skating rink, a large go-kart race track at the Lista Aktiv Park, and a fitness studio with a solarium—this region offers all of this to its guests.

A visit to the ancient stone fields from the Ice Age is an absolute must.
If the weather is windy or the fishing weather is bad, take a stroll along the coast near Jölle and Snekkestö. After a severe storm, you'll find many antique and maritime items on hikes along the shoreline. Develop a passion for collecting and craft your finds into eye-catching pieces for your home. Lista has great, long hiking trails, and it's also a wonderful place for cycling.

Visit the hidden mountain lakes in the hinterland, which are warm in summer, and find typical local mushrooms such as chanterelles and porcini mushrooms.

The existing, excellently signposted hiking trails (over 200 km in total) are only suitable for experienced hikers. Challenge yourself and get active... we wish you lots of fun. More great leisure tips from the Farsund and Lista region: (click)

The Lista region offers beautiful, long beaches with shallow water. All you need to bring is a towel and a picnic basket for a lovely day of sun and windless seas. If you're up for a longer hike, you can pack your backpack with some water and a snack and stroll along Farsund's beaches.
