Little Helle – your dream spot in complete seclusion in Stolsfjorden
Little Helle is a rare find. A holiday home standing alone on a sunny natural plateau right on the fjord – directly above the crystal-clear Stolsfjord. No road, no neighbors, no through traffic. Just fjord, rocks, forest, and wide open spaces. Here you experience Norway at its most pristine.
The location is so special that it's almost impossible to describe – you have to experience it.
You can only reach Little Helle by boat, and that's precisely what makes it so appealing: coming from Abelnes, across the fjord, and you find yourself in a little world of its own.

The house offers 125 m², 4 bedrooms, space for 6 adults, a large terrace directly over the water, internet access, a heat pump, a jetty, a boathouse, is non-smoking, pets are not allowed, final cleaning is included, and it is registered for tourist fishing. Inside, you'll find an open-plan kitchen/living room, cozy, with a nautical theme, perfect for spending time together after a day of fishing. The bedrooms are thoughtfully laid out and ideal for groups who value peace and quiet. Few holiday homes in southern Norway offer so much privacy – and at the same time, such short distances to the best fishing spots in the area.

Living in complete peace and quiet – just nature, the fjord and you
The atmosphere at Little Helle is instantly captivating: clear air, sparkling saltwater, absolute silence. The south-facing terrace offers sunshine all day long – golden hues in the morning, and deep sunsets over the fjord in the evening.

Boathouse, jetty and your personal fjord base
Right in front of the house is your own boathouse with a jetty – and you can truly start your fishing adventure right from your doorstep. Here you can fillet your fish, enjoy the midday sun, or watch seals, seabirds, and perhaps even porpoises that regularly migrate through the fjord. Little Helle in Stolsfjorden is a secluded natural haven, the likes of which few ever get to see.

Secluded location – yet well connected
You can only reach Little Helle by boat – a truly unique experience. From Abelnes, it takes approximately 8-10 minutes by boat to reach the house.
In the immediate vicinity are our holiday home Stolsfjorden, as well as three other summer houses occupied by their Norwegian owners during the summer months. Properties in this location are rarely offered, and because this spot is so valuable, this dream property can only be reached by water. Parking is available in Abelnes, where the boats are also loaded.

For purchases:
-
Landhandel Andabeløy in 8 minutes by boat
- 24-hour boat fuel station on Andabeløy accepting Visa, credit card and PIN.
- Guest harbor Flekkefjord in 15-20 minutes by boat
- The drive from Abelnes to Flekkefjord also takes 20 minutes.

Fishing area – a hotspot full of opportunities
Little Helle is situated in the heart of several first-class fjords – diverse, rich in species and full of exciting structures.
Just a few minutes from your jetty, you'll reach Stolsfjorden – deep, clear, and teeming with fish – and Strandsfjorden with its perfect drop-offs and plateaus. Target fish include pollack, cod, saithe, ling, flatfish, mackerel, and sea trout (spring and autumn).
- Eidsfjord & Fedafjord – tranquil fjord arms, ideal for diverse species.
- Siragrunnen – the legendary spot for big catches
- Vollesfjord next door – reliable and popular.
- Flekkefjord and along the shores – sea trout highlight.
- Hidra Island – one of the best fishing grounds in the region.
- Listafjorden – open, species-rich, diverse.

Why Little Helle is so popular
You'll find extremely short distances to prime fishing spots, calm waters for launching, direct access to open areas, a safe return trip even in windy conditions, and a perfect location for saltwater fish and sea trout. Here you can fish properly during the day – and in the evening sit on your sun deck, listen to the water lapping against the shore, and enjoy the peace and quiet. Little Helle is a place for people who want authentic nature, for guests who love tranquility, for anglers who appreciate large fishing grounds, and for everyone who wants to experience Norway as it truly is: clear, powerful, unspoiled, a dream location – and one of those rare places you'll want to return to again and again.

Flekkefjord – a charming coastal town with many opportunities

Freizeit und Angeln

Fishing in the sea and in the fjords near Flekkefjord, from Abelnes to Hidra

From your location in the Flekkefjord and Abelnes region, you have excellent opportunities for sea trout and saltwater fishing, depending on the tides and the time of year.

The marine fish in this region are incredibly diverse. The tranquil fjord locations offer numerous advantages, particularly for anglers, diving groups, and families with children who enjoy fishing, providing easy access to some of the best fishing grounds. Our excellent boat will effortlessly take you to some of the most renowned fishing spots in southern Norway.

These include Flekkefjord, the Bubble Bay near Fjellsa (reachable in only 10-15 minutes), as well as Vollesfjord and Strandsfjord near Andabelöy, Eidsfjorden, Stolsfjorden, Hidrasund and Fedafjord.

The wreck of the Gudrun, which sank off the harbor in Abelnes during World War II, is a popular destination for divers from all over the world in spring, summer, and autumn. The shores off Grönnes in Flekkefjord offer good opportunities for sea trout and sea bass fishing. Other saltwater fish can also be caught from shore, depending on the tide. If you are interested in salmon or trout fishing, we recommend visiting the large freshwater lakes in the area, as well as the rivers in Ana Sira or Kvinensdal (please note the closed seasons and the requirement for day permits).

In good weather, you can even explore the south coast of Hidras, the Lista Plateau, and the Siragrunnen. Insider tips include the shell cove in Vollesfjord and the so-called "retiree cove" in the immediate vicinity of the house in Stolsfjorden.

The Siragrunnen and the fish-rich Lista plateau (also known as the "football field" due to its vast, sandy, approximately 40-60 meter deep plateau) can be reached by boat in good weather. However, these trips require careful nautical planning and consistently good weather throughout the day.

Keep in mind that you can also fish in the open sea in the Abelnes region, which is one of the best fishing grounds in southern Norway, boasting an impressive variety of fish species and astonishing sizes. Therefore, it's important to plan and consider your trips carefully. Please check the wind and wave height several times a day on the usual weather websites. Also, pay attention to the recommendations of the owners and locals.

A wreck on the Listafjorden near Lista Fyr at a depth of 67 meters is considered a hidden gem, where sizable ling, sometimes also large cod and good pollack can be found.

At and around Pollackberg in Listafjorden, at a depth of 70 meters, hard-fighting sea fish, especially pollack, are regularly caught, as our pictures clearly demonstrate. Directly south of the lighthouse, at depths of 45 to 80 meters, ling, pollack, and good-sized cod also congregate along the drop-offs.

Fishing in Eidsfjord, near Cape Varnes and Stolsfjord

The fishing area lies directly in front of Eidsfjord, with its two small skerries in the middle of the fjord. Here you'll find excellent spots for pollack, cod, and saithe. The sandy bottom promises good catches of cod, ling, and flatfish. Fishing in the fjord is permitted daily. We have often fished in Eidsfjord and Stolsfjord, including at the fjord entrances along the verdant cliffs with their steep, terraced edges and considerable depths, in the opposite Stolsfjord, and towards Cape Varnes with its renowned pollack spots. At Cape Varnes, please fish at a safe distance from the steep banks. Pollack are plentiful there, hiding among the underwater vegetation in shallow water. Do not enter the small bays and harbors; beware of shallows.

In Eidsfjorden itself, you can always find cod, saithe, pollack, and ling, as well as mackerel in the summer, and occasionally salmon and sea trout while trolling. Flounder and plaice prefer sandy bottoms. This alternative is a good option when the wind is northwest and you can't go out to sea. With easterly winds, fishing trips are almost always possible. Please bear in mind that you are fishing here in the fjord, just before the open sea, arguably the best fishing area in southern Norway, with a great diversity of species and surprisingly large fish. Therefore, your trips should be well-planned and carefully considered.

Please check Windguru and yr.no several times a day for wind and wave height in Eidsfjorden (link click).

Fishing in freshwater / in the lakes and streams of the surrounding area:

There are many beautiful fishing spots in the area – for trout, char, and sea trout. On the website Listerfriluft.no you will find an overview of the fishing lakes and sea trout spots. A permit is required for some freshwater lakes and is subject to a fee. Here you can find all the information about freshwater fishing spots in Southern Norway. (Click here)

Leisure - Tips, Activities - Attractions

We recommend evening visits to the restaurants and pubs in Flekkefjord, such as the Grand Hotel or the Maritim Hotel, which offer excellent cuisine. Live music and dance events often take place on weekends, which are also accessible by boat during the day. These trips are prohibited after dark. In the shopping centers, you will find everything you need for a shopping spree. In the Flekkefjord harbor, there is a boat fuel station called "Groennes Marina" for marine diesel and gasoline. There is also a general store and a new boat fuel station in Abelnes, on Andabeløy. Only card payments with Visa or Mastercard and PIN are accepted here. Additional gas stations and ATMs are easy to find within the town.

The "white" town of Flekkefjord offers a diverse pedestrian zone with numerous shops, restaurants, pubs, dance bars, and other attractions. There are always events and performances, from open-air concerts to other happenings. The local diving club can organize diving trips for you by prior arrangement with the board. At the Flekkefjord harbor entrance, you'll find the historic Grønnes fortress and the only fjord beach with a diving platform. In summer, a boat trip to the popular swimming and barbecue island of Torsoy, located opposite Fjellsa, is highly recommended. If you have any questions about fishing, we're happy to answer them. This link (click here) provides information on a variety of activities in the Flekkefjord area, including Hollenderbyen (the Dutch town), rail biking on the legendary Flekkefjord railway, the Brufjell caves, the Blue Mountains caves, the Flekkefjord Museum, the Flekkefjord Diving Club, and Grønnes Beach.

September Urlaub

Steffi
