.Boat: Included in the price is a good Vest 20 foot with 60 hp Yamaha, as well as Lowrance 4 chart plotter echo sounder.
The 596 cm long boat is a safe fishing and excursion boat, very stable and easy to drive, perfect for fishing trips in the archipelago and trips off the coast. A boat with good seaworthiness that is suitable for both fishing and excursions. It has good stability and a high freeboard. The popular Vest 20 is a popular boat in terms of safety, performance, stability and plenty of space. A steering position provides the driver with good protection against wind and waves. The hull is robust and is also stable when fishing. There is a small filleting table at the jetty.
Equipment: bathing ladder, self-draining deck, rod holder etc.
Technical data: 596 cm length, width 222 cm, max. load 800 kg, approved for up to 8 people, latest generation Yamaha engine, category C. Life jackets / aids are available for almost all sizes. The boat is moored at its own berth at the jetty.
Extra boats:
A canoe or SUP can be rented on site from the owners for 40 euros per week.
Extra boats from 18 - 28 ft. can be rented on your own initiative in nearby Björnevag. However, the extra boats must be moored where they are rented. There are no free berths for extra boats at Sigruns Verden. Guided sea fishing tours can also be booked there in Björnevag.

Additional costs:
Important: In order to absorb the drastically increasing energy costs, we have to charge an additional 8 euros per night.
Charging of e-bikes, hybrid or e-cars via the house electricity is not permitted.
Included: The costs for accommodation, electricity for normal household management and water are thus included in the price.
Excluded and not included in the rental price: Insurance for accident cover, personal liability insurance.
New: WIFI - The owner gets 20 Euros per week for using WIFI from the guests.
Fast 5G Internet is available in the area (billed via your provider, note roaming charges abroad).
A fee of 70 euros per day will be charged if the 4-person annex is booked in addition.
1 small dog is permitted (one-off charge of 70 euros, to be specified when booking). The dog is not allowed in the upper rooms and bathrooms.
Final cleaning - bed linen and towel sets
Final cleaning is not included in the price for these properties, but is offered as an option. The tenant can carry out the thorough final cleaning themselves, or can book this for the main house Sigruns Verden for 150 euros. When booking the annex, we charge 70 euros for the final cleaning. Bed linen and towel sets can be brought by the tenant or booked as an optional service for 20 euros per set.
Check-in and changeover day:
Minimum rental period 1 week, changeover days every day, preferably Saturday.
Arrival: 15.00 h -20.00 h - Departure: until 10.00 h
Deposit:
The rental deposit is 400 euros, this is to be paid directly on site when moving in and will be refunded to the tenant when the rental property is returned free of defects when moving out.
House-specific information:
The property is registered for 2021 by the owner for the 18 KG fish export regulation.
All houses and apartments are non-smoking properties.
Please be considerate of your neighbors at lunchtime and at night and observe the usual quiet hours. Drinking water is valuable, just like ours. Therefore, we would like to ask you to be careful with drinking water, especially in summer. Children are very welcome, a baby travel crib is available free of charge if required. Please make sure you have the right size comforter covers and fitted sheets if you bring them yourself. You can also bring your own towels or order a linen set with the comforter covers for €20 per set. For reasons of hygiene, we would ask you not to use sleeping bags under any circumstances!
Fish cleaning must be done on the boat (device on the boat) in the harbor, or on an appropriate filleting table. Gutting and scaling fish on or in the house is not permitted. Fish waste must be disposed of at sea and not in the harbor basin.
Fishing and leisure activities in Farsund and the Bjoernevag region
Fishing in Farsund, Bjoernevag, Nordstranda and the waters outside Katland on the sea up to Cape Lindesnes.
In the area around Farsund with its fjords, island gardens, archipelago and the extremely fish-rich plateaus on the sea off Katland and the Kletten, water sports activities and saltwater fishing (all types) are at the top of your daily program. For diving, kiting, surfing and recreational and amateur anglers, the area is always full of surprises.
Good catches of handsome sea fish such as cod, pollack, coalfish, long and lump, sometimes halibut, as well as mackerel in abundance are brought home especially from the sea hotspots off Farsund, between Lindesnes Fyr and Lista Fyr. Of course, we know that the success rates depend on the weather, the season and the currents, but that's the way it is all over Norway on the coastal stretches. The open sea with its plateaus Nesskletten, Svaneflua, Rauna and other good fishing spots should only be approached with suitable boats and only in stable weather.
What is important to us: You should only head for offshore fishing spots in stable weather and with a suitable boat! Small dinghies should avoid offshore fishing areas and have no place on the open sea.

After all, the entire area offers more than 20 species of fish that can be caught. You can fish between the islands and skerries, or in the sheltered fjord with hardly any down days to speak of, virtually in any weather. In good weather with little wind, you can easily reach the open sea and the sandy plateaus from most of the locations. In the wintery spring, the herring come to the coast, joined by strong cod and coalfish.
From some of the jetties you can catch flatfish, flounder and meagre, as well as other sea fish. The owner can usually give you good weather tips and advice on worthwhile fishing spots. Wind-protected fishing in the fjord is almost always possible. So if you want to combine fishing and family, a short journey and lots of alternative vacation activities, this region is the place for you.
From Farsund or Borhaug you can book professionally guided fishing trips. The operator Björnevags also offers guided deep-sea and deep-sea fishing tours, for example, with M/S Bjørnevåg, 32 ft/100 hp, certified for 5-8 people. The tour lasts approx. 6 hours and is only carried out with a binding confirmation. (Only bookable and payable on site in Björnevag).
Fishing at Nordstranda:
Shoals of mackerel and other marine fish species move into the Helvikfjorden near Norstranda at various times of the year. From April onwards, fishing for sea trout directly from the jetty at Nordstranda or at "Svingbru v Bøensbakken" is absolutely promising and successful. The best mefo fishing, in our opinion, can be found on the shores and beaches of Farsund, or even in the city center under the bridge when the wind is blowing. We tested this ourselves and were quite successful.
In the summer of 2023, a herd of peaceful killer whales (orcas) even moved into the inner fjords and stayed there for several weeks to feed and rest. Visitors should keep their boats away from these majestic animals and the seals and always keep a safe distance.
Did you know that you can take a boat from our new Nordstranda facility near Helvik through the fjords to Lyngdal or Apta? The beautiful maritime city center of Farsund with its quay and harbor facilities - a highlight is the proximity to the city center of Farsund, because there are plenty of stores and a 'shopping mall' here. The ladies traveling with you will be thrilled to see or buy a lot of Nordic fashion here. Several boat fuel stations, shopping centers and various grocery stores (KIWI, COOP, SPAR, REMA 1000, Joker) are easy to find. Farsund offers many cultural sights and the city has a lot to offer for shopping fans.

Recommended journey - ferries:
From Hirtshals (DK) to Kristiansand or Stavanger (N). We are happy to help you choose the cheapest ferries (Colorline or Fjordline) and book them reliably on request.
The journey time to the properties in the region is approx. 1 hr. 30 min. The long-distance buses go directly to Lyngdal from Kristiansand or Stavanger. From Lyngdal there is another bus connection to Farsund (the driver stops on request).
Directions
After leaving the ferry/customs, follow the signs to Stavanger/Flekkefjord (E 39).
There are automatic toll booths on the route. Please log on to autopass.no and register your vehicle there. If you wish to drive through the Autopass lanes without registering, you will later receive an invoice for the fees incurred. Leave the "E39" at the Lyngdal exit and drive in the direction of Farsund. Follow the RV 43 in the direction of Farsund. Approx. 3 km before reaching the Farsund Bridge, turn left onto the FV666 with the sign "SPIND Rödland". At the blue "Arikstad" sign, drive towards Spind until you reach the blue "Rödland" sign and then follow the sign towards Ertsaker through the forest for another 1.6 km. The paths are narrow here
Additional costs Inclusive boat:
Included are the costs for boat rental, mooring and inventory as described, hull insurance with 1000 Euro excess depending on boat type and insurance, the necessary safety equipment and equipment according to Norwegian law.
Excluded and not included in the rental price: Insurance for passengers and accident cover, personal liability insurance, excess cover, consumables, fuel and lubricants.
Boat insurance - hull insurance:
Hull insurance is generally available for boats. The excess in the event of damage is up to 1000 euros. The amount of the excess can vary. It must be requested from the respective boat owner when taking over the boat and documented on the checklist. Personal items are not insured. The hull insurance is not liable for accidental damage suffered by persons traveling on the rental property. The renter is liable for damage to and loss of the boat if the damage is not covered by the insurance. Damage also includes consequential damage. The lessor/owner may retain the deposit paid until the damage has been repaired. The excess per case of damage is to be borne by the renter and may differ from the deposit. If the boat is returned free of defects, the deposit will be refunded immediately. Any damage not covered by the deposit or insurance must be replaced by the hirer immediately before departure. The hirer undertakes to notify the lessor/owner immediately of any damage, collisions, other unusual incidents or complaints.
Boating license:
For guests born before 01.01.1980, no license for motorboats of this class is required in Norway. For younger persons, a boating license for boats with more than 25 hp is mandatory.
Binding rules of conduct - liability of the renter:
We recommend strict abstinence from alcohol on the boat.
The renter is liable for damage caused by himself and also for all damage caused by co-users of the boat. The use of the boat is at the renter's and all other users' own risk. The hirer shall inform his crew in good time that they may need to take out appropriate insurance against loss events themselves before the start of the trip. In addition, the skipper must familiarize the crew with the boat technology and the terms of the contract and ensure that all passengers wear life jackets on the trips.
If fish cleaning is to be carried out on the boat or on an appropriate filleting table on the jetty, please dispose of the fish waste at sea and not in the harbour basin. Always cover fish waste (seagulls).
Restrictions on fishing areas:
Voyages are only permitted in the fjords or close to the coast. A minimum distance of 100 meters must be maintained from fish farms or similar facilities. Failure to observe the navigation rules may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement by the lessor/owner. Claims of the tenant are therefore deemed forfeited.
