Boat: Included is a 15 ft. motorboat Pioner, 10 hp four-stroke, (model 2018, open to 20 hp, without depth sounder) suitable for max. 3-4 anglers. Life jackets / aids are available for almost all sizes.
Extra boat: If required, a 20 ft. diesel cutter can be rented directly from the Norwegian landlord. Diesel cutter with 16 hp, approx. 5 knots, can be ordered, from 2018 with chart plotter. The price is NOK 600 per day, for 7 days, NOK 3000.
Important note for the 2024-2025 season:
No changeover day on Sat, 17.05.2025, must then be 18.05.
The owner extended the property at the turn of the year 2023 through extensive renovation and extension work. 4 more people can then travel from 2024, but only if the new upper floor with 2 additional bedrooms is booked. To clarify: The new upper floor with the 2 new bedrooms can be booked with a larger number of people (+4) from 2024. The additional cost per day is 50 euros. In addition, a significantly larger living area with a new terrace etc. has been created on the ground floor.
Holiday home "Solvika" is located in probably one of the most beautiful locations in southern Norway, in a breathtaking secluded location on a 4500 m² large and well-kept natural plot in a small, private bay on the Flekkefjord, surrounded by trees and lawns. A new large terrace facing southwest, a large jetty and a fantastic view of the fjord make this vacation spot particularly valuable. The property is situated in a sunny location near the old historic "Dutch town" of Flekkefjord, just before Abelnes, directly in the wind-protected fjord world. The charming house, surrounded by nature and shore areas, is situated in a quiet, yet central location. You can reach the center of Flekkefjord in 15 minutes by boat or in about 10 minutes by car. Very close to Andabeloya at Landhandel Oyna there is also a boat filling station for diesel and gasoline / 24 hours, only EC card or Visa with PIN.
The motorboat belonging to the house is located at the jetty directly at the house. The property can be reached by car via a private road, a parking lot for 2 cars is located above the house. Due to the unique location, you can only reach the house on foot from the parking lot via a small path to Solvika, then down a simple natural stone staircase to the house. (not suitable for people with walking disabilities)
We offer you a comfortably furnished summer house in a unique location with its own jetty on a very well-kept, secluded property. The furnishings are adapted to your needs, neat and clean. The kitchen and shower room are as good as new and the other rooms are very comfortably furnished.
We think that this vacation place is just right for a family with 2-3 children, or a fishing group who want to escape the stress of everyday life and for whom the beautiful, undisturbed location is in the foreground:

Excluded and not included in the rental price: Insurance for accident cover, personal liability insurance. Firewood is not included in the rental price. The additional costs for booking 2 additional bedrooms are 50 euros per day.

The rental deposit is 350 euros, this is to be paid directly on site when moving in and will be refunded to the tenant when the rental property is returned free of defects when moving out.
House-specific information:
Pets are not permitted. All houses and apartments are non-smoking properties. Children are welcome, a baby travel crib is available free of charge if required. Please make sure that the comforter covers and fitted sheets are the right size. Please also bring your own towels. For reasons of hygiene, we would ask you not to use sleeping bags under any circumstances!
The fish should be cleaned on the boat (device on the boat) in the harbor, or on an appropriate filleting table. The fillets should then be rinsed with fresh seawater, bagged and frozen at home. Gutting and scaling the fish in or around the house is not permitted. Please dispose of fish waste at sea and not in the harbor basin.
Fishing in the sea and fjords near Flekkefjord, from Abelnes to Hidra
From your base in the Flekkefjord and Abelnes region, you have excellent opportunities for sea trout and sea fishing, depending on the tides and the season.
The sea fish in this region are very rich in species. Especially for anglers, diving groups and fishing enthusiastic families with children, the quiet fjord locations of the region offer many advantages, from where you can reach the best fishing areas. With our good boat you can easily reach the most famous fishing grounds in southern Norway.
These include the Flekkefjord, the bubble bay at Fjellsa (only 10-15 minutes away), as well as the Vollesfjord and Strandsfjord at Andabelöy, Eidsfjorden, Stolsfjorden, Hidrasund and Fedafjord.
The wreck of the Gudrun, which sank off the harbor in Abelnes during World War II, is a popular attraction for divers from all over the world in spring, summer and autumn. On the shores off Grönnes in Flekkefjord there are good opportunities for mefo fishing and sea bass fishing. Other sea fish can also be caught here from land, depending on the tide. If you are interested in salmon or trout fishing, we recommend that you also visit the large freshwater lakes in the area and the rivers in Ana Sira or Kvinensdal (please note the closed seasons and the need for day tickets).
In good weather, you can even explore the south coast of Hidras, the Lista Plateau and Siragrunnen. Insider tips include the mussel bay in Vollesfjord and the so-called "Pensioners' Bay" in the immediate vicinity of the house in Stolsfjorden.
The Siragrunnen and the fish-rich Listaplateau (also known as the soccer pitch because of the huge, sandy plateau, which is around 40-60 meters deep) can be reached by boat in good weather. However, these trips require careful nautical planning and really good weather conditions throughout the day.
It is worth remembering that you can also fish here in the Abelnes region on the open sea, which is one of the best fishing grounds with an impressive variety of fish species and amazing sizes in southern Norway. It is therefore important that you plan and weigh up your trips carefully. Please check the wind and wave height several times a day on the usual weather sites. Also follow the recommendations of the owners and the locals.
An insider tip is a wreck in the Listafjorden near Lista Fyr at a depth of 67 meters, where you can find impressive ling, sometimes also large cod and good pollack.
At and around the 'Pollackberg' in Listafjorden at a depth of 70 meters with its occurrence, strong sea fish, especially pollack, are regularly hooked, as our pictures prove. Ling, pollack and good cod can also be found directly south of the lighthouse, from 45 to 80 meters water depth, at the break-off noses.
Fishing in the Eidsfjord, near Cape Varnes and Stolsfjorden
The fishing area is located directly in front of the Eidsfjord with its two small skerries in the middle of the fjord, here are very good spots for pollack, cod and coalfish. The sandy bottom promises good catches of cod, ling and flatfish. Fishing in the fjord is possible every day. We have often fished in the Eidsfjorden and Stolsfjorden, including at the fjord entrances to the green cliffs with their stepped drop-offs and great depths, in the Stolsfjorden opposite or in the direction of Cape Varnes with its famous pollack spots. There, at Cape Varnes, please fish at a safe distance from the steep banks. The pollack are abundant there among the underwater plants at shallow depths. Do not enter the small bays and harbors, beware of shallows.
In Eidsfjorden itself there are always cod, coalfish, pollack, ling, mackerel in summer, and occasionally salmon and sea trout when trolling. Flounder and plaice like to be found on sandy bottoms. This alternative is ideal in north-westerly winds when you can't go out. In easterly winds, trips are almost always possible. Please bear in mind that you are fishing here in the fjord just before the open sea, probably the best fishing area in southern Norway with a great variety of species and amazing fish sizes. Therefore, your trips should be well planned and considered.

Leisure - tips, activities - attractions
We recommend evening visits to the restaurants and pubs in Flekkefjord, such as the Grand Hotel or the Maritim Hotel, which offer excellent cuisine. There is also often live music and dancing at the weekend, which can also be reached by boat during the day. These trips are not permitted after dark. In the shopping centers you will find everything you need to store to your heart's content. In the harbor of Flekkefjord there is a boat filling station called "Groennes Marina" for boat diesel and gasoline. In Abelnes, on Andabelöy, there is also a land-based shop and a new boat filling station. Here you can only pay by card with Visa or Mastercard with PIN. Other car filling stations and ATMs are easy to find in the city area.
The "white" Flekkefjord offers a varied pedestrian zone with many stores, restaurants, pubs, dance bars and other attractions. There are constant events and performances here, from open-air concerts to other events. At the local diving club, you can organize diving tours by prior arrangement with the management. At the end of Flekkefjord harbor you will find the historic Grönnes fortress and the only sandy beach in the fjord with a diving platform. In summer, you should definitely take a boat trip to the popular bathing and barbecue island of Torsoy, which is located opposite Fjellsa. Recommended journey - ferries:
From Hirtshals (DK) to Kristiansand or Stavanger (N). We are happy to help you choose the cheapest ferries (Colorline or Fjordline) and book them reliably on request.
Flekkefjord is located halfway between Stavanger and Kristiansand.
The distance to these cities is approx. 125 kilometers (travel time approx. 2 hours). The long-distance buses go directly to Flekkefjord from Kristiansand or Stavanger. There is another bus connection from Flekkefjord to the vicinity of your vacation home (the driver will stop on request).
Directions
After leaving the ferry/customs, follow the signs to Stavanger/Flekkefjord (E 39).
There are automatic toll booths on the route. Please log on to autopass.no and register your vehicle there. If you wish to drive through the Autopass lanes without registering, you will later receive an invoice for the fees incurred. Leave the "E39" at the Flekkefjord exit and drive straight on through the traffic circle towards the town center. When you enter Flekkefjord, there are two petrol stations on the left-hand side of the road, behind them are several supermarkets (Coop, Spar, Rema 1000, KIWI), which are open during the week until 21.00 or 22.00 hours. In Flekkefjord follow road 44 for approx. 5 km, at the Abelnes/Hidra sign turn left onto road 469 to Kvellanstrand / Hidra. (signpost) Continue to the signpost "Erikstemmen" and turn left here, then follow the private road to the barrier on the right. The owner will be waiting for you and will hand over the boat after the briefing.
Additional costs included boat:
Included are the costs for boat rental, mooring and inventory as described, hull insurance according to Norwegian law with up to 1000 Euro excess depending on boat type and insurance, the necessary safety equipment and equipment according to Norwegian law.
Excluded and not included in the rental price: Insurance for occupants and accident cover, personal liability insurance, excess cover, consumables, fuel and lubricants.
Note: For uneconomical and very fast trips, boats also consume significantly more fuel.
Boating license:
For guests born before 01.01.1980, no license is required for motorboats of this class in Norway. For younger persons, a boating license for boats with more than 25 hp is mandatory.
Boat insurance - hull insurance:
The boat is insured under the usual national hull insurance conditions. The deductible to be paid in the event of self-inflicted damage is 1000 euros and is due for payment to the boat owner without exception in the event of a classic claim.
Binding rules of conduct - liability of the renter:
We expect the skipper to strictly refrain from drinking alcohol on board. This is solely for your safety.
The hirer is liable for any damage caused by themselves and also for any damage caused by other users of the boat. The use of the boat is at the renter's and all other users own risk. The hirer shall inform his crew in good time that they may need to take out appropriate insurance against loss events themselves before the start of the trip. In addition, the skipper must familiarize the crew with the boat technology and the terms of the contract and ensure that all passengers wear life jackets on the trips.
If fish cleaning is to be carried out on the boat or on an appropriate filleting table on the jetty, please dispose of the fish waste at sea and not in the harbour basin. Always cover fish waste (seagulls).
Restriction of area:
Voyages are only permitted in the adjacent and suitable waters of the home port and near the coast.
A minimum distance of 100 meters must be maintained from fish farms or similar facilities. Failure to comply with the navigation rules may result in immediate termination of the tenancy by the lessor/owner. Claims of the tenant are therefore deemed forfeited.
Cleaning the boat:
The hirer must carry out the thorough final cleaning of the boat himself, preferably daily after the fishing trips. The hirer returns the boat in a refueled and cleaned condition, as it was handed over by the lessor.
