In southern Northern Norway, in Nordland on the Helgeland coast, you'll find some of the most scenic fjords in Northern Norway. Stokkasjøen is located on the Stokkafjorden, at the mouth of the cleanest and most fish-rich fjord in all of Norway. The property is located next to our well-known holiday home, Stokkasjøen Rorbu. The legendary coastline surrounds one of the world's hidden island treasures, hence its World Heritage status. Due to its beautiful surroundings, the Stokkasjøen holiday apartment, located close to the small ferry terminal, is particularly suitable for those who appreciate the sea, boating, and fishing. Windsurfers, canoeists, and anglers will find a paradise here, as the fjord is right on the doorstep. The privately owned property is located directly on a bay in the Stokkafjorden, Stokkasjøen, which is also perfect for families with children, as it has a beach. The apartment can accommodate up to 5 people. The property's motorboat is moored at a jetty in front of the house. From the front garden, you can admire the view of the Seven Sisters, the islands opposite, and the midnight sun over the sea. Incidentally, this region is also a World Heritage Site, so beautiful is it. A gas station and shops are located about 6 km away.
Whether hiking, swimming in the fjord, fishing in the fjord or the sea, or fishing for salmon and mefo in the river (please observe the salmon fishing limits; permits may be required), the possibilities for recreational activities are virtually limitless. Let the owner advise you on fishing and completely forget about your busy everyday life. Northern Norway offers you so many attractions – where else can you find this unique opportunity? Fish cleaning must be done exclusively on the boat (provided there is a suitable cleaning facility on the boat) in the harbor, or on a suitable filleting table. The fillets should then be rinsed with fresh seawater, bagged, and frozen at home. Gutting and scaling fish on or in the house is not permitted. Fish waste must be disposed of at sea, not in the harbor basin.
Fishing:
The house's superb location offers ideal opportunities for sea anglers, particularly close to very fish-rich fishing grounds, surrounded by thousands of skerries and islands, as well as the neighboring fjords. The fishing area is famous for the Saltstraumen and Vega Islands. The fish species found here, such as halibut, wolffish, pollock, redfish, haddock, ling, tusk, cod, salmon, trout, and others, can be cleaned directly on the filleting table with running water and then stored in the freezer. Your fishing gear can be safely stored in the house. Freshwater fishing opportunities exist in a nearby salmon river. If you enjoy salmon and trout fishing, you should definitely try your luck in the Lakselva River, part of the Vistenvassdraget waterway in the interior of the fjord. Fishing licenses can be purchased at Visthus Camping. Wonderful mountain hikes or short excursions through the surrounding forests will delight any Norway connoisseur.
Activities:
It's impossible to list everything here... there are so many recreational opportunities here. Excursions on the regularly scheduled ferries and speedboats through the stunning island landscape of the fjords to the surrounding sights, or to the larger towns, such as Sandnessjøen in the north or Brønnøysund in the south of Helgeland, are definitely worthwhile and will enrich your vacation. You can find more information about the Helgeland region here.
The Kingdom of a Thousand Islands offers spectacular natural wonders, mountains and peaks, open sea and white-sand bays, islands large and small, flat and high, long and wide. By vehicle, you'll travel along a diverse coastline, circumnavigate fjord arms, cross bridges, and walk along the foot of picturesque peaks. The uplifting views and natural experiences here will take your breath away. You won't find anything comparable to this in Norway. The Vistenfjord is also ideal for diving. Visthus Camping has a compressor for oxygen refills. Swimming in the sea and hikes into the mountains with stunning natural scenery complete this perfect vacation spot. Observe wildlife such as moose, otters, and native bird species—even golden and sea eagles. More great information here (click)
