There is enough room for 4-5 anglers on the boat for sea fishing. Thanks to its sturdy construction and excellent stability, the Oien sits firmly and securely on the water while fishing and is fantastically seaworthy. Fishing in the area of Lindesnes Spangereid, Mandal, Tarvatnet, Lonestrand, Furuholmen, Snig
Sea anglers can fish in the fjord and the open sea, or pursue flatfish from the shore. We recommend a boat trip to the region's best fishing areas, off the islands and onto the plateaus near Lindesnes - Spangereid. Depending on the boat's power, it will take you about 10-20 minutes to reach the open sea. In the fjord mouths you can catch all kinds of sea fish (20 species of good sizes), depending on the season, weather, and tide. On the open sea, good cod, pollock, coalfish, ling, and tusk, among others, await you. Why not try float fishing for cod and plaice from the jetty while you're having a barbecue? Please pay attention to the closed seasons and fishing limits in the river mouths. From summer until early November, shoals of mackerel invade deep into the fjord. Depending on the season, you can also catch sea fish and flatfish directly from land on the nearby beaches. Your contact person will give you on-site instructions on the fishing grounds. Furuholmen also has two experienced fishing guides available for booking.
We also recommend fishing trips on the fjord or out to sea to the region's best fishing spots off Mandal, Furuholmen, the islands off the coast, and the plateaus. By boat and in good weather, you can reach the well-known fishing grounds of Southern Norway off Furuholmen and Lindesnes.
If you're in a small boat, it's better to fish behind the skerries rather than heading out to sea. With a larger boat, it's about a 15-minute drive from the pier to the open sea. Catching sea fish in the fjords depends on the season, weather, and tide.
On the burrows of the open sea, you'll find good coalfish, cod, pollock, mackerel, ling, and tusk, along with the occasional halibut. The estuary near Furuholmen is known for its good sea trout and salmon catches. River sections and their zones may only be fished with a permit. Please observe the closed seasons and fishing limits in the estuary.
In summer, schools of mackerel invade deep into the fjords. Along the shorelines and from the jetties, they catch saltwater fish and plenty of flatfish on the sandy bottom, sometimes also salmon and sea trout, depending on the season. The evening hours are especially recommended.
You can also get the best fishing tips from the Norway fishing friends or in the Norway fishing forum .
Here (click ) you can find information about salmon fishing in Zone 1, Audna.
Freshwater fishing / in the surrounding lakes and streams:
If you enjoy fishing for salmon, trout, and char, this is the place for you. The vast Tarvatnet Lake, with drinking water quality, is home to native salmonid species. Please note: You will need a fishing license for the large Tarvatnet Lake. Please ask in advance!
Please pay attention to the closed seasons and fishing limits in the estuaries. The Audna River, in particular, is home to fantastic salmon pools; you'll need a day ticket/permit for the various zones during the season.
The Audna Salmon River (50 km long) flows through the Audnedalen valley from Ytre Øydnevann to the Snigsfjord at the sea. The river's course is highly varied, with calm rivers alternating with rapids and waterfalls. The width varies between 10 and 20 m, and fishing depends heavily on the water level. The first few days after heavy rainfall produce the best results.
Fishing in the Audna River is only permitted with a state license for salmon and sea trout. These can be obtained online or by mail. A landowner's permit is also required. This can be obtained from the Mandal Tourist Office or Lindesnes (tel: +47 38258068). Licenses are also available at many riverside shops. Prices are low for the truly excellent salmon fishing. Other salmon rivers in the area include the Mandalselva River and the Lyngna River.
The Audna has seven fishing zones: Interesting Zones 1-3
Zone 1: From the estuary to Ystholen. The river flows gently and offers dry fly fishing opportunities for sea trout in the evenings.
Zone 2: Ystholen up to 150 m below Melhusfoss. Several beautiful sections for fly fishing. Especially recommended during mid- or low-water periods, when no fish are crossing the Melhusfoss.
Zone 3: Melhusfoss. By far the best spot. Only a few day permits are issued, and two landowners can fish.
The licenses must be ordered from the Audna Fiskerettforening by May 1st and are not cheap.
There are many beautiful fishing spots in the area – for trout, char, and sea trout. On the website Suednorwegen.org, you can find everything about Southern Norway, including an overview of fishing lakes and sea trout spots. However, a permit is required for some freshwater lakes, which are subject to a fee.

Activities:
In Spangereid, 12 minutes away, you'll also find a fishing tackle shop, a supermarket, and a gas station with a landscaping supply and fishing tackle. The harbor there also has a small shopping area with maritime shops. Shopping is also possible in Vigeland, where there is also an ATM and a first-class bakery. Norwegian attractions such as the old, reclaimed Spangereid Canal, Cape Lindesnes with its lighthouse, and various art galleries, such as Krake Vika with theater performances and other events, are worth seeing. A trip to Lyngdal Water Park (45 minutes), Northern Europe's newest water park, is a must in case of bad weather. Information is available on the official tourism website www.nordsjovegen.no .
Hikers and cyclists get their money's worth thanks to the very diverse nature, as the small, white coastal towns of this region are strung together like a pearl, not too far away.
With a wide selection and special opening hours, you can also buy many specialties at reasonable prices at the Furuholmen kiosk on Saturdays and Sundays during the season.
Cape Lindesnes should be included in your excursion. Here, you can also visit the lighthouse or walk through the old WWII bunkers (bring a flashlight). The hotel in Båly, with its spa and wellness center, also pampers you with excellent cuisine. Spangereid also boasts the world's only new underwater restaurant (opening in late 2018/19).
If you're looking for nightlife, head to Mandal. The drive takes about 35 minutes.
There's a lot going on here, including several restaurants and a few pubs where you can just have a drink or dance. Mandal offers many cultural attractions, and the city has plenty to offer shoppers. Kristiansand Zoo is about an hour's drive away. This is a must for families with children. For more information, visit http://www.lindesnesregionen.com/
Recommended arrival - ferries:
From Hirtshals (DK) to Kristiansand or Stavanger (N). We are happy to help you select the most affordable ferry (Colorline or Fjordline) and can also book it for you upon request.
Directions:
After leaving the ferry/customs, follow the signs to Stavanger/Flekkefjord (E 39).
There are automatic toll booths along the route. Please log in to autopass.no and register your vehicle there. If you wish to drive through the Autopass lanes without registering, you will receive an invoice for the fees later. At the E39/Vigeland roundabout, continue on the E39 and after approximately 1 km, turn right at the Vigeland sign into the town. Once in the town, turn right behind the gas station onto the FV 460 road and continue towards Lindesnes Lighthouse/Njervesanden. Shortly after passing Njervesanden, the sandy beach is on the left. The property, with its own access road, is on the right, just before the end of the beach.
Additional costs including boat:
Included are the costs for berth and inventory as described, hull insurance according to Norwegian law with a deductible of up to 1000 euros depending on boat type and insurance, and the necessary safety equipment and fittings according to Norwegian law.
Exclusive and not included in the rental price: passenger insurance and accident protection, personal liability insurance, excess coverage, consumables, fuel and lubricants.
Please note: The boat is not included in the price from November 1st to March 31st (winter storage). However, it can be ordered for an additional charge.
Boat insurance - hull:
Boats are generally covered by hull insurance under Norwegian law. The excess in the event of damage is up to 1,000 euros, depending on the boat. The amount of the excess can vary; please inquire with the boat owner upon pick-up and document it on the checklist. Personal belongings are not insured. The insurance does not cover accidental damage suffered by persons traveling on the rental vessel. The renter is liable for damage to and loss of the boat unless the damage is covered by the insurance. Damage also includes consequential damage. The landlord/owner may retain the deposit paid until the damage is repaired. The excess per claim is to be borne by the renter and may differ from the deposit. If the boat is returned in good condition, the deposit will be refunded immediately. Any damage not covered by the deposit or insurance must be compensated for by the renter immediately before departure. The renter undertakes to immediately notify the landlord/owner of any damage, collisions, other unusual incidents, or complaints.
Boat license:
Guests born before January 1, 1980, do not require a license for motorboats of this class in Norway. For younger people, a boat license is required for boats with more than 25 hp.
Binding rules of conduct - tenant's liability:
We recommend strictly abstaining from alcohol on board.
The renter is liable for any damage caused by themselves and also for any damage caused by other users of the boat. The use of the boat is at the renter's own risk and that of all other users. The renter shall inform the crew in a timely manner that they will, if necessary, obtain adequate insurance against damages before the start of the trip. Furthermore, the boat operator must familiarize the crew with the boat's technical features and the terms and conditions of the contract and ensure that all passengers wear life jackets during trips.
If cleaning fish is done on the boat or on a suitable filleting table at the jetty, please dispose of fish waste at sea, not in the harbor basin. Always cover fish waste (to protect against seagulls).
Territory restriction:
Trips are only permitted in the adjacent and suitable waters of the home port and near the coast.
A minimum distance of 100 meters must be maintained from fish farms or similar facilities. Failure to comply with maritime regulations may result in immediate termination of the rental agreement by the landlord/owner. Any claims by the tenant are deemed forfeited.

The rental period of the boat is generally tied to the rental period of the booked property.
Equipment and inventory will be handed over/taken over according to the checklist.
Location: Handover with driving instructions and return is at the berth.
Handover: after 18:00 h or after consultation with the owner
Return: by 10:30 a.m. on the last day of rental or by arrangement with the owner.
Eventual delays must be reported to the owner immediately by telephone.
Cleaning the boat:
The renter is responsible for thoroughly cleaning the boat at the end of the rental period. The renter must return the boat in the clean condition it was handed over to them by the rental company.
