Location and natural wonders – On the Arctic Circle, where the light never sleeps
Holiday home Vikran is located on the island of Nordnesøy, in the heart of the Helgeland archipelago – right on the Arctic Circle, at the same latitude as the southern coast of Greenland and further north than Iceland. Surrounded by the Norwegian Sea, tranquil, fish-filled bays, and countless skerries, Nordnesøy offers the perfect combination of pristine wilderness, maritime atmosphere, and Nordic serenity – a place where you arrive and simply stay.
The island belongs to the municipality of Rødøy o. Lurøy (Nordland region), approximately 100 kilometers north of the Vega archipelago, nestled between the island groups of Rødøy, Selsøyvik, Myken, and Træna. Nordnesøy is easily accessible by car ferry. The area has retained its tranquility and authenticity, making it a true paradise for passionate anglers, nature lovers, and families seeking unspoiled Norway. A veritable fishing paradise begins right on your doorstep: rich fishing grounds and serene, crystal-clear bays. Here begins the realm of the midnight sun and the Northern Lights – where the sea and the horizon merge into one. As an officially registered tourist fishing company, we offer you the best conditions – for unforgettable days at sea and the catch of a lifetime.

Welcome to Vikran Holiday Home, a lovingly renovated fisherman's cottage on the island of Nordnesøy, right by the sea. Here, Nordic serenity meets modern comfort – a place to breathe deeply, relax, and feel at home. The holiday home accommodates up to 10 people and combines traditional Scandinavian architecture with contemporary furnishings. Large windows bring the light of the North into the house, while light wood tones and warm textiles create a cozy atmosphere.
This property features five comfortably furnished bedrooms, three bathrooms – one with a bathtub – and a fully equipped kitchen with a dishwasher, oven, coffee maker, and kettle. High-speed Wi-Fi, a smart TV, and approximately 160 square meters of living space complete the comfortable offering. A washing machine and dryer are also provided. The open-plan living and dining area, with a large sofa, dining table, and access to the terrace, offers breathtaking views of the sea, sky, and mountains. And with a bit of luck, you might even see the Northern Lights dancing outside your window in the evening.
The large, fenced property is ideal for families with children or dog owners. Terraces with garden furniture invite you to enjoy breakfast in the sun or a barbecue by the fire. The garden offers space for playing and relaxing, and a fire pit, gas grill, and charcoal grill are available. Adjacent to the garden is a utility building with a shower, a freezer for fish, and an electric drying cabinet for your floaters. Parking is available on the property, and a gently sloping sandy beach is just a short walk away, perfect for relaxing by the sea.
Holiday home Vikran is designed to be family-friendly, with a garden, loving furnishings and proximity to the beach.

Whether you want to fish, hike, relax, or simply leave everyday life behind, here at the Arctic Circle, where sea, light, and silence become one, you will find your own personal piece of Norway.
We believe:
The house is aimed at guests who appreciate peace and quiet, nature, and authentic Norwegian flair. Our goal is for families, couples, and nature-loving anglers to feel equally comfortable and enjoy their stay respectfully.
We do not rent to party groups or extreme hardcore fishing groups whose sole interest is mass catches or high catch volumes. Note: The owners occasionally live in a completely separate holiday apartment on the ground floor.

Your hosts will then treat you to homemade Nordic cuisine, fresh and seasonal – from breakfast to multi-course dinners using locally sourced ingredients. There is a grocery store and a petrol station on the island.

Excursions on the regularly scheduled ferries and speedboats through the stunning island landscape of the fjords to the surrounding sights or to the larger towns are definitely worthwhile and will enrich your holiday. 12°3747.1"E
Tip for your journey:

Additional costs and information for a separately rented boat:
Included are the costs for boat rental, mooring and inventory as described, comprehensive insurance according to Norwegian national law with a deductible of up to 1000 euros depending on the boat type and insurance, and the necessary safety equipment and supplies according to Norwegian law.
Exclusive and not included in the rental price: passenger insurance and accident protection, personal liability insurance, excess cover, consumables, fuels and lubricants.
Boat insurance - hull coverage:
Your boat is generally covered by comprehensive insurance. The deductible in case of damage is €1000. The type of coverage and the amount of the deductible may vary; please inquire with the boat owner upon taking possession of the boat and document this on the checklist. The renter's personal belongings are not insured. The comprehensive insurance does not cover accidental damage suffered by persons traveling on the rental boat. The renter is liable for damage to and loss of the boat, unless the damage is covered by the insurance. Damage also includes consequential damage. The lessor/owner may retain the security deposit until the damage is repaired. The renter is responsible for paying the full deductible for each claim if the security deposit is insufficient to cover the damage.
The security deposit will be refunded to the renter immediately upon return of the boat in undamaged condition. Any damage not covered by the security deposit or insurance must be paid for by the renter immediately before departure. The renter is obligated to inform the owner/landlord immediately of any damage, collisions, other unusual incidents, or complaints.
Boat license:
Guests born before January 1, 1980, do not require a boating license for this class of motorboat in Norway. Younger individuals must hold a boating license for boats with more than 25 hp.
Binding rules of conduct - tenant's liability:
We strongly recommend abstaining from alcohol on board.
The renter is liable for any damage they cause themselves, as well as for any damage caused by other users of the boat. Use of the boat is at the renter's and all other users' own risk. The renter must inform their crew in a timely manner that they should obtain adequate insurance coverage against accidents before departure. Furthermore, the skipper must familiarize the crew with the boat's operation and the terms of the rental agreement and ensure that all passengers wear life jackets during trips.
If fish cleaning takes place on the boat or on a suitable filleting table, please dispose of the fish waste at sea, not in the harbor basin. Always cover fish waste (to protect against seagulls).
Territorial restrictions:
Trips are only permitted in the adjacent and suitable waters of the home port and in coastal areas.
A minimum distance of 100 meters must be maintained from fish farms or similar facilities. Failure to comply with maritime regulations may result in immediate termination of the lease by the landlord/owner. Any claims by the tenant will then be forfeited.
Handover - Return:
The rental period of the boat is generally tied to the rental period of the booked holiday home.
Equipment and inventory will be handed over/accepted according to the checklist.
Location: The handover, including driving instruction and boat return, takes place at the mooring.
Handover: 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM or by arrangement with the owner
Return: by 09:30 on the last day of rental or by arrangement with the owner.
Any delays must be reported to the owner immediately by telephone.
Cleaning the boat:
The renter is responsible for thoroughly cleaning the boat upon departure. The renter must return the boat in the same clean condition as it was received by the owner.
