With 3 bedrooms for up to 6 people, high comfort, and the fjord shore very close, Steinfeda is the perfect retreat from which to experience the beauty of Southern Norway. The holiday home is quietly located, away from traffic, just 60 meters above the sheltered Lenefjord. Surrounded by majestic cliffs in the background, you can enjoy a fantastic view of the shimmering green fjord waters from the sunny south-facing terrace. The house is furnished in a cozy, Nordic summer house style and offers everything you need for a relaxing holiday. For children, there is a swing, slide, and a sandbox. The fjord and the swimming areas (where you can also fillet fish on a stone table) are easily and quickly accessible via a good path that leads directly down to the water next to the house. Deposit:
The rental deposit is 350 euros, which must be paid on site upon moving in and will be refunded to the tenant upon moving out if the rental property is returned in perfect condition.
House-specific information - dog:
Dogs are permitted upon request. A fee of €70 per pet applies for the entire stay, regardless of the length of your stay. Dogs must be declared upon booking. However, pets are not permitted in the upstairs rooms. All houses and apartments are non-smoking.
Children are welcome, and a baby travel cot is available free of charge upon request.
Please make sure you order the correct size bed linens and fitted sheets if you haven't pre-ordered them. You must also bring your own towels if you haven't. For hygiene reasons, we ask that you refrain from using sleeping bags! Fish must be cleaned on the boat or on a filleting table. Gutting and scaling fish in or around the holiday home is not permitted. Fish waste must be disposed of at sea, not in the harbor basin.
Fishing:
You can reach Baly by fast and safe boat in 15-20 minutes through the archipelago off Spangereid-Båly. You can also sail through a strait from Lenefjorden into the beautiful Grönsfjorden in 10 minutes. In the fjords, you can catch sea fish depending on the season, weather, and tide. Lenefjorden is known for its excellent sea trout catches.
Fishing off Svennevik -Lussevika near Spangereid:
Keen sea anglers can fish between the skerries and the open sea, or pursue flatfish from the shore. We recommend a boat trip to the region's best fishing areas, off the islands and onto the plateaus near Lindesnes - Spangereid. By boat, it takes just under 25 minutes from the house to the open sea. In the fjord mouths you can catch all kinds of sea fish (20 species of good sizes), depending on the season, weather, and tide. On the open sea, good cod, pollock, coalfish, ling, and tusk, among others, await you. Why not try fishing for cod and the like with a float from the jetty while you barbecue? Please pay attention to the closed seasons and fishing limits in the river mouths. From summer until the beginning of November, shoals of mackerel invade deep into the fjord. Depending on the season, you can also catch sea fish and flatfish on the nearby beaches, even directly from land. Maps and GPS coordinates of the fishing area are available upon request when booking. Activities:
You can also take a boat to Baly in Spangereid for shopping. There you'll find a bakery, a supermarket, and a gas station. The harbor there also has a maritime shopping area. You can also shop at the nearby Vigeland Museum, which also has an ATM and a first-class bakery. With a wide selection and extended opening hours during the season, you can also shop in Lyngdal at reasonable prices on Sundays. Norwegian attractions such as the old, reclaimed Spangereid Canal, Cape Lindesnes with its lighthouse, various art galleries, and other events are worth seeing. A trip to Lyngdal Water Park (45 minutes), the newest water park in Northern Europe, is a must in case of bad weather. Hikers and cyclists will find the diverse natural scenery aplenty, as the small, whitewashed coastal towns of this region are strung together like pearls, not too far away.
Cape Lindesnes should be included in your excursion. Here, you can also visit the lighthouse or walk through the old WWII bunkers (bring a flashlight). The underwater restaurant and hotel in Båly, with its "spa and wellness department," will also pamper you with excellent cuisine. Spangereid also boasts the world's only new underwater restaurant (opening in late 2018/19).
If you're looking for nightlife, head to Mandal. The drive there takes about 20 minutes.
There's a lot going on here, including several restaurants and a few pubs where you can just have a drink or dance. Mandal offers many cultural attractions, and the city has plenty to offer shoppers. Recommended arrival - Ferries:
From Hirtshals (DK) to Kristiansand or Stavanger (N). We are happy to help you select the most affordable ferry (Colorline or Fjordline) and can also book it for you upon request.
Directions:
After leaving the ferry/customs, follow the signs to Stavanger/Flekkefjord (E 39).
There are automatic toll booths along the route. Please register your vehicle at www.autopass.no . If you choose to drive through the Autopass lanes without registering, you will receive an invoice for the toll later.
At the E39 / Vigeland roundabout, continue on the E39 and after approximately 1 km, turn right at the Vigeland sign into the village. Once in the village, turn right behind the gas station onto the FV 460 road and continue towards Lindesnes Lighthouse. After passing the village of Reme, turn right onto Møgedalsveien. Follow the gravel road to the Steinfeda turnoff.
